Digital Art and Design Concentration (27 Credits)

After completing the two Digital Art introductory design courses (Art 122 and Art 124), students will be required to submit a portfolio for admission into the Digital Art and Design Program. The portfolio will include a total of ten examples showcasing their skills in the following categories and software: digital illustration (2 utilizing Illustrator); photographic collage and painting (2 utilizing Photoshop); typographic experimentation and 2-D compositional layout (2 utilizing InDesign); web design/blogging and animation for web (2 utilizing Wordpress or Wix); and 2-D drawing or design (2 examples from Art 110, Art 201 or Art 202). Portfolios must be carefully prepared according to guidelines available in the Visual Arts Office. Portfolios must be submitted and approved before students can enroll in 300 level design courses. Courses with a grade of less than 2.0 (C) will not count towards the major. Transfer students will be reviewed utilizing similar criteria.
