AIGA Event: How Culture Affects Typography

AIGA CT LectureAIGA Connecticut hosts a lecture by Nikki Villagomez titled “How Culture Affects Typography.”  This event is Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 6 to 8:30 pm at The Grove, 760 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Villogomez is a designer, blogger, and typofile. She looks for how culture affects the decision processes of our every day life. Mixing words and images conveys a message. Villagomez will discuss her own processes, as well as analyze images from Connecticut respondents.

And, you can help shape the event’s content. Villagomez would like you to send her typographic references in the form of local pictures that you feel best represent the state of Connecticut. She will then study these photos and use them as a core part of her presentation. We encourage you to send in photos of your favorite typographic landmarks, even if you cannot attend the event.

Please submit photos by Friday, August 16.
You can submit your pictures 3 ways:

Email them to: nikkivillagomez@gmail.com

Tweet them to: @nikki_vz with the hashtag #ConnecticutType

Instagram them: tag @nikki_vz with the hashtag #ConnecticutType
