On 9/3 the BOR had an BbLearn Outage that began with performance issues around 8:00pm followed by a complete failure until full recovery around 9:41pm.
Users may have been met with Internal Server Error messages, inability to login or dropped sessions.
Blackboard provides this list of known issues and the targeted resolutions. When reading it, understand that the column titles equate to the following:
- Service Packs(s) = The Service Pack effected by the issue (we are on SP11)
- Target Release = The Service Pack that fixes the issue
- Patch = Whether there is a patch for our existing Service Pack
Also be aware that the latest release available is SP13.
SP14, SP15, and SP16 have yet to be released.
As a result of the service pack applied to Blackboard by the BOR on Aug. 18th, there are some issues with blackboard in its current state. The BOR offers this document as a means to address some of the issues they have discovered:
Upgrading Blackboard Learn 9 to SP 11 created authentication errors for faculty using Respondus with Blackboard. The following patch for Respondus fixes the issue:

On Aug 18th, the BOR will upgrade blackboard Learn to SP 10 and SP11. As a result there will be changes to the tool as detailed in the following article:

Have you checked your Eastern Email? Checking your Eastern Email periodically will keep you aware of how many days you have until your password expires. Blackboard won’t notify you, it will just stop working. If your Blackboard account suddenly stopped working, please log into your Eastern Email to see if the password expired.
