Laurel Hall

Description:
Laurel Hall is located in the center of campus and is part of the South Residential Village complex. Laurel houses 255 men and women in four person apartments. Each apartment includes four single bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, a living area, kitchen facilities, and central heat/air conditioning. Laurel is also equipped with floor lounges on the 2nd – 7th floors, computer lab, meeting room, game room and laundry facilities. Students living in Laurel Hall are not required to purchase a meal plan but may elect to do so. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Niejadlik Hall

Population: 140 students

Description:
Niejadlik Hall houses 140 men and women in four person suites. Each suite has a common living area, two private baths, and central air/heat. Single bedrooms are furnished with beds, study desks, dressers, desk chairs, built-in closets and windows with blinds. Computer and study rooms, television lounges, an exercise room, laundry and vending facilities are also available. Niejadlik is also equipped with a large Multi-Purpose Room, often used for building events. Because Niejadlik Hall is not equipped with kitchen facilities, all students are required to purchase the Silver meal plan and may elect to purchase the Gold meal plan. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Noble Hall

Description:
Noble Hall is located at the southern boundary of campus. and houses 216 men and women in four and six person apartments. Each apartment includes two-person bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, kitchen facilities, and central heat/air conditioning. Noble is equipped with two game rooms, both with TV and video game capability. One has a full size pool table, the other has vending machines, a foosball table and an air hockey table. There are two PC/Study rooms, a meeting room, an exercise room, and lounge space. Laundry facilities are also available. Students living in Noble Hall are not required to purchase a meal plan but may elect to do so. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Nutmeg Hall is located in the center of campus and is part of the South Residential Village complex. Nutmeg Hall houses up to 246 men and women. Each 4 person apartment includes four single bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, a living area, kitchen facilities, and central heat/air conditioning. Nutmeg is also equipped with a lounge on the 2nd – 6th floors, a computer lab, a game room, a meeting room, and laundry facilities. Students living in Nutmeg Hall are not required to purchase a meal plan but may elect to do so. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Occum Hall

Population: 243 students

Description:
Located on the northern end of campus across from Hurley Hall, Occum houses 243 men and women in four and six person apartments. Each apartment on the 1st and 2nd floors (transfer housing) includes two-person bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, sink and refrigerator and central heat/air conditioning. Mailboxes, laundry facilities, multi-media room, PC Lab, an exercise room and vending machines are also located within the building. Occum Hall residents on the 1st and 2nd floors are required to purchase the Silver meal plan but may elect to purchase the Gold meal plan. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Transfer students are assigned based on age and number of credits transferring into Eastern (only those credits known at time of placement can be taken into account). Occum Hall transfer beds are reserved for transfer students who are older than the traditional freshmen and have over 60 credits. Students with less credits may be assigned to these spaces as needed.

High Rise

Description:
Located in the center of campus next to the Health Services Center, High Rise is a nine-story apartment complex that has four person and five person apartments. Each apartment includes bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area and kitchen facilities. High Rise apartments have central heating/air conditioning. Mailboxes, vending machines, and laundry facilities are located in High Rise. A computer lab is also available, which is located in High Rise. Smoking is not permitted in any of the residence halls.

Best Western

(overflow housing)

Description:
The Best Western Regent Inn (123 Storrs Rd., Mansfield, CT 06250) houses approximately 60 men and women in double rooms, along with housing staff personnel. Students are housed in their own building separate from the main hotel itself. The small population and specialty transfer student programming focus promotes a strong community at the hotel and promotes involvement in campus events. The University has supplied additional storage within the rooms to make your stay more comfortable. The Best Western is equipped with high-speed wireless internet access, free continental breakfasts, TVs in each room, TV lounge with foosball and billiards, vending machines, microwaves, pool and hot tub, laundry facilities and cleaning service. Students assigned to the Best Western are not required to purchase any specific meal plan and can choose the meal plan of their choice. Smoking is not permitted in the hotel. The University runs its shuttle service to and from the Best Western, but students at the Best Western are also permitted to have a car. Students who register their car with Campus Police will receive a commuter parking pass and will have the ability to drive to/from class.
