The competition is broken down into a series of events that fit into the following areas that are important aspects of a well rounded liberal arts experience:
Is a core belief of the institution exposing students to diverse viewpoints and artistic expression, discovering unfamiliar cultures, and participating in co-curricular activities broaden a student’s academic experience. This year the Arts and Lecture Series of events will provide point opportunities where the hall with the highest percentage of students at Andrew Revkin, the Ghandi Legacy and one of the remaining three events (unannounced and chosen at random) will be announced at the Hall Olympics.
Personal and Professional Development
Personal and Professional development opportunities are abundant at Eastern so a small handful of event will be used to determine which hall is most involved along with awarding points to the hall with the highest cumulative grade point average at the end of the fall semester and the hall with the highest percentage of students involved in a student club or organization.
Giving back the community is a great way to learn empathy and have an impact on society, points will be awarded to the hall with the highest level of participation in housing community service events, campus blood drives, Box Tops for Education collection, and the Dean’s Fundraiser competition.
All Eastern students have school spirit and we will measure how each hall stacks up against one another during the Fall Pep Rally, assorted athletic competitions, an energy conservation contest, and culminate with Eastern Hall Olympics.
