English Minor

English Minor

The English minor is designed to complement students’ majors; to acquaint them with literary themes, genres, and periods; to introduce them to the study of language; and to help them become proficient writers.

The minor in English is a course of study planned with a department advisor and consists of 15 credits beyond the LAC and beyond the first-year writing (ENG 100 or 100P). Courses to be counted must receive a grade of 2.0 or higher.  At least 9 credits are to be earned in 300-level or above courses.  Approval of a course of study for the minor program by the department chairperson is required.
