Work Hub

The Work Hub… A new kind of work space

What is it?Eastern's Work Hub

Eastern’s Work Hub is an on-campus work center where students can complete “remote internships” for organizations of all types and sizes, in which they apply theory to practice while developing skills in a real-world setting. This pre-professional experience can help clarify career goals and better prepares students for a future job or postgraduate study.

The Work Hub provides a space where organizations can achieve their business goals with the assistance of Eastern interns from more than 30 academic disciplines. We have the interns, space, technology, amenities and location to assist you with your business and staffing needs. We are seeking  entrepreneurs, innovators, businesses and community organizations to be part of a creative, unique and energetic scene.

Eastern’s Liberal Arts education is grounded in a core curriculum that all students share, independent of their majors and career aspirations. Experiential learning builds upon this classroom learning, providing students with opportunities to develop intellectually while learning to become leaders and engaged citizens. Eastern’s Liberal Arts Work! initiative expands experiential learning options for students in areas such as undergraduate research, creative production, internships, co-ops, and service learning.

“With this initiative, we are creating a new paradigm……In our mission, we are committed to being an ‘economic catalyst’ for the local business  community and the region, and our strategic plan calls for providing experiential learning opportunities to all students. This initiative meets both of those objects.”

-Dr. Nunez, President
