BEST Fest FAQ Sheet For Organizations
1). What is BEST Fest?
BestFest is an opportunity for business-technology related major students from Eastern Connecticut State University to exhibit their “real world organizational projects” and to compete in up to 3 of 18 exhibit categories. Organizations from across Connecticut and neighboring states attend and vote for their favorite exhibits. Students have the opportunity to speak with organizational representatives about projects and skillsets as well as discuss internships, co-ops and full-time career opportunities at their organizations.
2). What are the event details?
Date: Thursday, February 21, 2013, snow date is Friday, February 22, 2013.
Time: Display time is from 2:00-5:00pm. Awards ceremony is at 5:00pm.
Location: Betty Tipton Room, Eastern Student Center
To participate, students must have a major or minor in the following areas:
Business Administration Accounting
Business Information Systems Economics
Social Informatics Labor Relations/ HR Management
Computer Science Communications
3). Does it cost anything?
There is no registration fee. However, sponsorships for category competitions are welcomed along with event sponsorship donations.
4). Why should I participate?
The BEST Fest allows your organization to visit Eastern to meet and talk with potential Internship/Co-Op/career students. More importantly, it allows you to see exhibits of some of their project work so that your organization knows more about the potential of Eastern’s students and how they might help your organization achieve its goals. Please feel free to ask exhibiting students for their resumes and/or business cards.
5). What are the details regarding the student exhibits?
You will be asked to cast your vote for the best projects in up to 18 different categories:

Students have been encouraged to use their best work for the displays and to network with organization representatives.
6).What should I do upon arrival?
Upon arrival at the BEST Fest, you will receive the floor plan of the Betty Tipton Room so that you can easily find the exhibits and students that you are most interested in for your organization and a voting ballot so that you can cast your votes for your favorite exhibits in the different categories. You will also receive a program organized by exhibit categories, student academic programs, and exhibit number. Please feel free to ask exhibiting students questions about their exhibits, projects and internships, and for their resumes and business cards. Plus feel free to share your contact info and organization internship/co-op and career opportunities with the students as you visit the different exhibits.
