Michelle CongletonMajor: Elementary Education and English
Hometown: Manchester, CT
Michelle CongletonHow did you choose your major?
Teaching is more than just standing in front of a classroom, lecturing on the importance of a quality education; it is going deeper than the surface and reaching the hearts and minds of the children. The difference between being taught and being able to learn is immense and that gap is where I plan to begin my future as Ms. Congleton, “Second Grade Teacher”.

What are some of your interests?
I love dancing. I have been tap dancing for a total of 15 years and have loved every bit it. It is a great way to relieve stress. Secondly I love fashion, and admit to being some what of a "shopaholic". I also love to read and learn new things- it's amazing how much you absorb.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
One of my biggest achievements in life so far is placing first at the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) State Leadership conference. I was eligible to compete at nationals in San Antonio Texas. My partner and I both placed in the top 15 in the nation in our respected category.

What is one thing you will be sure to bring with you?
My planner. I am a very organized and busy girl, since I am so involved in my community. Since I plan on getting even more involved next year at Eastern, its going to be necessary in order to keep on track.

Tatyana RandolphWhy Eastern?
I’ve toured Eastern more than 5 times since I was a Freshmen and every time I stepped foot on the campus, I felt at home and knew that Eastern was the place for me. I believe Eastern has a lot to offer me- educationally and socially. Attending Eastern will help me bring out more qualities and traits that I didn’t know existed within me.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
My greatest academic achievement is making it to the point where I am ready to graduate, and being the first in my family to go to college. I'm proud of myself for having the determination to attend college and be successful. My greatest lfie achievement is going to the Colorado School of Outward Bound. I've done a lot of things that I never imagined myself doing, line becoming a master rock climber and repeller.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I can't sleep with socks on.

What are some of your interests?
I absolutely love soccer (I hope to play soccer or tennis at Eastern). I care about the environment. I'm that person that'll see trash on the ground and pick it. I love science and math. I'm interested in helping people. I love to read, especially when I'm laying in the grass. I love being a supporter to everyone.
Darianne MastricolaMajor: Psychology

Darianne MastricolaWhat are some of your greatest accomplishments?
One of my greatest achievements is being so involved with activities in my school. I did sports, maintained good grades, and achieved my Girl Scout gold award. Not many girls today get to say they did that.

What are you most excited about at Eastern?
I'm most excited about field hockey. I'll be trying out for the team, and I'm excited to play and meet everyone!

What is an interesting fact about you?
You have to get to know me to know all the interesting things about me. But, one thing would be that my name is a mix of my parents: Darin+Julianne=Darianne

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I definitely want to get involved in community service clubs, study abroad, lifeguard on campus, join the choir, and much more!
Justin AyerMajor: Business
Hometown: Wallingford, CT
Justin AyerWhat are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I turned myself from a runner into a football player in only two years from middle school to high school (I hit the weights hard!). I went from very average grades my freshman and sophomore year to high honor roll grades by my junior and senior year (3.7+). I am also a proud role model to my younger brother Dylan and sister Caeley.

Why Eastern?
Eastern is a perfect fit for me. Great size, good "college feeling" and affordable. I knew as soon as I came during the summer tour that this was the school for me.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I would like to get involved in club and intramural sports. I would also like to participate in clubs that are similar to myMajor. Joining clubs is a great way to meet new people and create new friendships.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I can do a dance with my eyebrows where I can move each eyebrow simultaneously up and down (Only Jim Carrey and I can do that).
Samantha WalterMajor: Secondary Education and Environmental Earth Science
Hometown: Wethersfield, CT
Samantha WalterWhat are some of your interests?
I love traveling. The most interesting place I have been is Tanzania, Africa. I also enjoy photography. I will make sure to bring my camera with me to campus so I can continue my passion.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I'm tall for a girl, standing at 5'9 (and a quarter).

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?My greatest accomplishments in high school include being captain of my varsity volleyball team, and being a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.

I chose Eastern for many reasons; it's beautiful eco-friendly campus, great education program, and it's affordable price.
Chantal BerubeMajor: Communication
Hometown: Cumberland, RI
Chantal BerubeWhat would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I am interested in writing, student government, newspaper, radio and reading. At Eastern I would like to work on campus and and get involved in the radio and newspaper clubs.

What is an interesting fact about you?
An interesting fact about me is that I grew up in Cumberland, Rhode Island. I am an active member in my high school's student government. Also, I currently write for my local paper.

What is one thing you will be sure to bring with you?
I will be sure to bring my photos from my hometown. Iit will remind me that no matter what is going on in my life or where I am I can always find my way back home.

What do you expect your first day at Eastern to be like?
During my first day at Eastern I expect to be nervous, but still be me. I hope to find friends that appreciate me for me!
Lucy SheaMajor: Communication and Theater
Hometown: Bethel, CT
Lucy SheaWhat are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Becoming the Battalion Operations Officer in my high school ROTC program; I was in charge of over 250 cadets. Receiving a Halo award nomination for acting. Being accepted into the Sherman Playhouse Acting Company, and having a part in their production of "Anne of Green Gables". Attending Girls State at Eastern during the summer of 2012. Being awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution medal.

What are some of your interests?
I adore writing and making stories up. I have a crazy imagination and love all things in the performance arts, whether that be singing, dancing, or acting.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I’m a total nerd and a total girly girl. A perfect day to me would be a shopping marathon, then a Skyrim session, then I would watch "Game of Thrones". I can speak in any accent, and I’m the Queen of random facts!

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Alive, glamorous, and amusing.
Lawrence McGillMajor: Mathematics
Hometown: New Haven, CT
Lawrence McGillWhat are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Winning a State Championship for basketball, and being inducted into the National Honor Society.

How did you choose yourMajor?
I chose mathematics because that has been my favorite subject since I have started school. I've always been great with numbers.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I was born in the back seat of a car and on my birth certificate it says "Born on street corner of Henry Street and Dixwell Avenue."

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Funny, caring, and ambitious.
Jessica DemirsMajor: Biology
Hometown: Watertown, CT
Jessica DemirsWhat are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I was on the Naugatuck Valley League Championship Swim Team my Junior and Senior year at Watertown High School. I made states all four years and swam at finals 2 out of the 4 years. I was on the NVL All-Academic team my Senior year for swimming.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I would like to get a job on campus. I want to give tours to incoming freshman looking at the school because I want to help them understandHow awesome it is to attend Eastern.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I'm 99.9% sure I'm a Disney Princess. Well at least I'd like that to be true.

What do you expect your first day at Eastern to be like?
I expect it to be nerve wracking, but just like any new experience it is going to be so much fun. And Ii know that I'm not alone- all of the new freshman are feeling like me.
Kaitlyn MaciscoMajor: Secondary Education and English

Kaitlyn MaciscoHow did you choose yourMajor?
I chose Secondary Education and English as myMajors. Ever since I was little I wanted to be a teacher. I may also dabble in communications for production.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I want to be on the committee that plans events around campus for the students (Campus Activity Board). The radio station is also something I want to try.

What do you expect your first day at Eastern to be like?
Crazy! I'll be meeting new people and learning where everything is. But definitely fun and exciting.

Anything else?
I'm funny, easy to get along with, smart and fun to be around. I give everyone a chance and people generally like me. I have weird talents too (like being able to cry completely on cue).
Danielle TurleyMajor: Biology

Danielle TurleyWhy Eastern?
I chose Eastern because of the awesome science building and the closeness of the campus. I am very excited that Eastern is giving me the opportunity to further my education, and I am thrilled to be a Warrior!

What are some of your interests?
I love dancing, and have been dancing for about 8 years. I also love anything outdoors-y like hiking, going to the park, and the zoo. I enjoy listening to music; it's a great way to escape when you're stressed out. Spending time with my friends is also a necessity!

What are you most excited about at Eastern?
I am very excited to begin my freshman year. I am excited to start fresh, to make lots of new friends, and to get involved. I plan on joining lots of clubs and really get myself out there! I'm also excited about my dorm, as well as my classes.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I plan on joining the Outdoors Club, Habitat for Humanity, and possibly the dance team when I attend Eastern. I am also going to be physically active and hit the gym often!
Morrisa LuddyMajor: Secondary Education and Environmental Earth Science

Morrisa LuddyWhat would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I would like get involved in the Drama club, as I was in several plays in middle school and high school. I may also try intramural volleyball and Habitat for Humanity. I also want to study abroad somewhere warm.

What is one thing you will be sure to bring with you?
My Iphone. I can't live without my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and my favorite music, Hot Chelle Rae!

Why Eastern?
I love the campus- It's so pretty and green. I also like the gym. Eastern is close enough to go home and see my friends when I want to, but far enough away to still feel independent.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I got an award in my senior year for excellence in physics. I also belong to the National Honor Society. I was on honor roll all four years in high school and have a very high GPA.
Alexander FiduciaMajor: Business

Alexander FiduciaWhy Eastern?
I chose Eastern because when I arrived for the campus tour I experienced a feeling that I did not have while touring any other school. Many students can relate to the feeling- after seeing the campus and meeting the students and faculty, I could envision myself at Eastern so clearly, which made it an easy decision.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I improved academically every year of high school, and today I am aware of the type of student I am and have a grasp on what my strengths and weaknesses are- which is essential to know if you want to grow as a student. I have always been outgoing and recently had an opportunity to play at Toad's Place in New Haven with a band I formed a few years ago. We had aspired to play at that venue for many years and finally got the opportunity.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
Intramural sports are definitely something I am interested in, along wtih the American Marketing Association.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I am the best set back card player in the world, seriously. I'm also obsessed with Lord of the Rings.
Kayla GiordanoMajor: Political Science
Hometown: East Lyme, CT
Kayla GiordanoHow did you choose yourMajor?
I'm going toMajor in Political Science with a pre-law track. I chose thisMajor after taking a class at my high school called Contemporary Issues, where I got to travel to Dartmouth, UPenn, and Princeton to attend model congress sessions. While there, I found a passion for debate as well as a drive to create social reform.

What are some of your interests?
I love discussing politics and books. I have also been a dancer (modern, ballet, and jazz) for almost 10 years.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I participated in the American Legion Oratorical Competition, a constitutional speech contest. I was required to write and memorize a speech on the constitution and deliver it without any aids. It turned out that I would win at the post, district, and state, making me the Connecticut Oratorical Winner for 2013. I also got to travel to Indiana for the national competition. Meeting so many other talented young adults was the most amazing opportunity I have ever had.

Why Eastern?
I attended CT Girls State the summer before my senior year and was very impressed by the campus. Initially, I was against going to a state school, but the more I learned about the opportunities that Eastern had to offer I couldn't not apply. Being accepted into the 2017 Honors Cohort was what made me decide to declare Eastern as my choice.
Marisa LaBrecqueMajor: Psychology
Hometown: Colchester, CT
Marisa LaBrecqueWhat are some of your interests?
I sing, I play guitar and piano, I write poetry, I enjoy reading, playing videogames (even though I'm not very good at them) and I love movies and animals.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?

I want to help others in groups like PHP (People Helping People), or just sign up for many of the volunteer opportunities I know Eastern supplies. I am also thinking of doing an alternate spring break trip to travel somewhere and volunteer (like the one mentioned at orientation about students going to New Jersey to help build houses). I want to get involved in as many opportunities that I wish I did in High School, and then some.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I taught myselfHow to play the piano and guitar. I learnedHow to play the music then watched YouTube tutorials to improve my skills. After many months of singing in my room I began to gain confidence in my vocal and music skills. I sang at a school talent show two years in a row and it was the best feeling in my entire life. Over 500 people heard my voice; I would never trade those nights for anything

Why Eastern?
I chose Eastern because of the small classes. I want to be able to get to know my teachers and develop a good relationship so if I need help I feel comfortable talking to them.

Amber MosleyWhat are you most excited about at Eastern?
I can't wait to start my life, meet new people and become part of a big community!

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?

I really want to get into extracurricular activities. I want to do something involving singing as well as community service, and I also want to play a sport.

What do you expect your first day at Eastern to be like?
I'm not quite sure what my first day is going to be like but I think that's the best part. It's something unexpected and new and something to look forward to!

What are some of your interests?
I have so many interests but I really love anything to do with music and sports. I have been singing since I was young and it has always been my passion, but I also love watching and playing sports- especially football. I was on the Powder Puff team at my school and it was a great experience.
Lindsey LindskogMajor: Secondary Education and History
Hometown: Middletown, CT
Lindsey LindskogHow did you choose yourMajor?
I love to travel and learn about different places, cultures, and times. It's my passion and I want to share that with the coming generations. I also want to aid children in achieving their dreams and living their passions as my teachers did for me.

Why Eastern?
I chose Eastern because of the highly-praised academics offered, but I fell in love with the university when I visited the campus. I knew it was the school for me. It's beautiful and different than what I'm used to; the idea of a new adventure in life excites me.

What do you expect your first day at Eastern to be like?
I imagine I will meet a number of new people, some of which might soon become my best friends at Eastern. I also believe that I will at some point get lost while wandering around the campus.

What would you like to get involved in at Eastern?
I am so excited to join the Habitat for Humanity club on campus! I'm passionate about helping others and giving back to my community. I would love to join the History and Education clubs. I'm also interested in joining the Campus Activity Board and someday traveling abroad.
